
Dr. Yahya Dowlati received his Ph.D. Medical Sciences from Tehran University in 1959. He received his M.D. from the same university in 1966.
In 1967 Dr. Dowlati moved to United States and completed his internship in Dec 1968 at the Bon Secours Hospital in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, USA. From 1969 to 1972 he attended the Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA where he completed his residency and fellowship in dermatology and dermatopathology.
Dr. Dowlati returned to Iran, where he has been practicing and teaching in dermatology until the present.
He has been elected 4 times as the president of the Iranian Society of Dermatologist. A position he currently holds.
In Sep 2010, The Honorary Professorship of Franche-Comté University was dedicated to Dr. Yahya DOWLATI, Director of “Center for Research and Training in Skin Diseases and Leprosy-CRTSDL”, Tehran University of Medical Sciences during an official ceremony at Palace of Justice hall.
In Dec 2013, Dr. Dowlati was elected as an outstanding mentor by international society of dermatology in international congress of dermatology in New Delhi, India that.
Dr. Dowlati is founder and current director of the Center for Research and Training in Skin Diseases and Leprosy at the Tehran University, School of Medical Sciences. The center was the first established center for skin disease research in Iran.
World Health Academy (WHA), designated Prof. Yahya Dowlati as Honorary Life Member of WHA at 14 June 2014.
Dr. Dowlati, is permanent member of Iranian academy of medicine.
